Who this is for:
Maybe you list yourself as an LGBTQ+ friendly or affirming provider but don't know all of the steps to take. Maybe you WANT to start supporting the LGBTQ+ community but are unsure where to start. Whether in private practice or part of a non-profit, there are tips and resources for you! From your website or listing to your intake paperwork and sessions, there are considerations and suggestions.
Mental health practitioners (therapists, counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and specialists) who have at least a basic understanding of the LGBTQ+ community and its terms and work with clients or patients who are at least 18 and up*.
*Due to special additional considerations for youth/minors, we will only be covering adults and those of legal age to receive gender-affirming care in their respective states. Unfortunately, with current state laws and proposed anti-LGBTQ+ legislation across the United States, we have to take this precaution.
